LATIN NAME: CUPRESSUS ARIZONA BLUE ‘CAROLINA SAPPHIRE’
The Basics
This Arizona Cypress has symmetric pyramidal evergreen foliage. The striking icy blue foliage grows moderately to a height of 20-30 feet(10-15 feet wide). Ideally used for an accent, specimen, grouping plants, or even a Christmas tree.
The Needs
Amount of Sunlight: Thrives in full sun; Tolerates shade
Amount of Water: Water regularly; more frequent watering in extreme heat; Drought tolerant
Soil Conditions: Prefers dry, well-drained soil
Cold Hardiness Zone: 6-9
The Care
This low-maintenance cypress needs a regular water schedule to ensure the growth of a mature root system. The first year of growth requires watering weekly. After the mature root system is established, watering is needed occasionally, except during a drought, watering is needed regularly. Pruning is not required.
